WOW Carwash recently delivered more than $3,500 of school supplies to Charles Silvestri Junior High School located at 1055 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., Las Vegas, Nev., 89183.
The partnership with Silvestri Junior High School is the first of WOW Carwash’s Adopt A School program. During Teacher Appreciation Week earlier this year, WOW Carwash Team Members visited various local schools to deliver free car wash vouchers to show the company’s appreciation for their dedication to educating the children of Las Vegas. From meeting with teachers at Silvestri as well as with the community engagement coordinator for the Clark County School District, WOW Carwash selected the school as its first recipient in its Adopt A School program.
The school supplies donated will be used by numerous teachers and included pencils, glue sticks, folders, pens, markers, tape, staplers, paper clips, highlighters, and grading sliders.
“Supporting the schools in our community is important to WOW Carwash, and we are proud to start our Adopt A School program with Charles Silvestri Junior High School,” said Heath Pomerantz, CEO of WOW Carwash. “Teachers are the backbone of our community, dedicating themselves to educating our children and often spending their own money on supplies. We hope our donation will lessen the financial burden many teachers face to provide their students with the basic supplies they need.”
“We appreciate community organizations that are actively engaged in providing support for our students and educators,” said Dr. Brad Keating, CCSD Assistant Superintendent of Engagement. “Donations and community support fuel our progress as CCSD works to become the Destination District for everyone.”
After the donation delivery, members of the WOW executive team provided a $1,500 catered lunch to members of the school’s administration and teaching staff during which the groups got to know each other better. Additional donations and events will likely occur over the rest of the school year.
