Speeders Car Wash Opens in Middlebury, Connecticut

Admin |

Speeders Car Wash, a membership-focused car wash brand and part of Summit Wash Holdings, announced the opening of a new express car wash location in Middlebury, Connecticut.

The 2160 Straits Turnpike location in Middlebury marks the first Fred’s Carwash location that was acquired by Summit Wash Holdings and rebranded as a Speeders location. The owner of Fred’s Carwash, Fred O’Neil, a pioneering figure in the New England car wash industry, is beginning a new chapter after more than 44 years as an owner-operator. Fred’s Car Wash, long a local favorite with five locations in Connecticut, was recently acquired by Summit Wash Holdings. The company’s Russell Speeder’s locations, well known in the area, are now being rebranded under Summit’s fast-growing Speeders brand — which was recognized earlier this year as the new face of Summit’s retail carwash portfolio.

“We’re really excited about our continued growth in Connecticut and the expansion of the Speeder’s brand,” recognized Jason Baumgartner, Chief Strategy Officer for Summit Wash Holdings. “Working alongside Fred as we transition his locations to Speeders has been a wonderful learning experience; it also was an opportunity to truly put people first – our customers and our teammates, as well as our new teammates who are transitioning to be a part of the Speeder’s team from the Fred’s team.”
