PitStop Car Wash Raises Nearly $11,000 for Team Gleason in Honor of General Manager’s Mother

Addis, LA. – September 10, 2026 - A fundraising effort to support families impacted by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) was deeply personal for Addis PitStop Car Wash General Manager Missy Gore.

On Saturday, August 15, participating PitStop Car Wash locations donated proceeds from every wash to Team Gleason, a nonprofit dedicated to improving life for people living with ALS. PitStop set a goal of raising $10,000 and surpassed it, generating nearly $11,000 for the organization. PitStop Car Wash is a member of the MOJO Family of Brands organization.

For Gore, the cause hits close to home. Her mother passed away from ALS in 2024, and as the disease progressed, Gore and her family relied on Team Gleason for critical resources and guidance.

“Team Gleason was there for my family during one of the most difficult times in our lives,” said Gore. “They helped us navigate wheelchairs, caregivers, doctors and so many other resources, but what means the most to me is that they helped my mom bank her voice before she lost the ability to speak. Later, she was able to use eye-tracking technology to communicate through a device that spoke in her own voice. That meant I could continue having conversations with my mom as ALS progressed. I will never forget that.”

Gore's experience inspired her to help PitStop give back to the organization that provided her family with meaningful support.

“This fundraiser was about much more than reaching a dollar goal,” said Terry Emerson, CEO of MOJO Family of Brands, parent company to PitStop. “It was about honoring Missy’s mom and helping other families have access to the resources and support that made such a difference for Missy and her family. We’re incredibly grateful to the PitStop teammates who supported this great initiative and everyone who came out to support Team Gleason.”

The nearly $11,000 raised will help Team Gleason continue its mission of providing people living with ALS access to technology, equipment, support services and experiences designed to improve their quality of life.
