Rinsed Launches New Quarterly Car Wash Industry Report with Insights from 2025Q4

Rinsed has released its latest Quarterly Car Wash Industry Report, offering new insights drawn from aggregated data across more than 3,000 car wash locations for 2025Q4.

In 2025Q4, total same-store sales revenue grew 4.8% year-over-year. While not a breakout quarter, this result reflects steady growth against a notably strong comparison period in 2024Q4, when the industry delivered exceptional performance.

Membership revenue increased 11.3% year-over-year and once again served as the primary driver of total revenue growth. Retail revenue, by contrast, declined 8.4% year-over-year, highlighting the ongoing volatility of retail revenue relative to the more stable membership revenue. Broader consumer sentiment may be contributing to this dynamic, as confidence levels have fallen meaningfully compared to a year ago, often leading consumers to be more cautious with discretionary spending.

The report also examines operators’ success in converting retail customers into members, broken out by average active monthly members per site. In 2025Q4, car washes with more than 4,000 members converted at 15.6%, locations with 2,000–4,000 members converted at 10.3%, and locations with fewer than 2,000 members converted just under 3%. These results continue to show that larger, more mature membership programs convert at significantly higher rates.

New to this quarter’s report is a deeper look at the composition of new membership signups. In 2025Q4, over 70% of new memberships came from first-time members, while 29.2% were former members reactivating their subscriptions. This indicates that nearly three in ten new signups are win-backs, underscoring the importance of reactivation and churn-recovery campaigns as a meaningful pathway to membership growth.

Churn remained stable in 2025Q4. Voluntary churn averaged 4.6%, credit card churn averaged 3.0%, and total churn averaged 7.6%. These figures are consistent with recent quarters, suggesting churn levels have largely stabilized.
