SUPPLIER NEWS: Alamo Wash Systems, Windmeer Enterprises, Tommy's Express breaks ground

May 10, 2017
Alamo Wash Systems, Windmeer Enterprises, and Tommy’s Express Car Wash are pleased to announce the groundbreaking of a new car wash coming soon to North San Antonio, Texas.

This will be the 7th Tommy’s Express Car Wash in the nation, joining existing locations in Michigan, California, Missouri, and Kansas. Groundbreaking will be held on May 10 at the future location of the wash: 23032 N. US Highway 281.

The new wash tunnel will be built in the “Totally Tommy Express” building design developed by sister company Tommy Car Wash Systems. The team that has been working on this project took it a step above, and set the bar even higher. This location will be the First LEED certified car wash in the state of Texas and only the third in the Country. This is achieved with Alamo Wash Systems proprietary reclaim system and insight for responsible environmental management by Winmeer. Design features extensive bay windows, a rounded transparent roof for natural light, and a two-story owner’s tower over three gated pay lanes for fast and easy wash admission.

Inside the tunnel a fully-loaded equipment package promises some of the quickest wash times in the nation, with a highly-targeted application and rinse system. A variety of menu services will be available, including tire shine, hot wax, and weather repellent.

The tunnel’s extra-wide, stainless steel arches will allow the wash to accommodate an impressive range of customer vehicles, including large-size and low-ride automobiles. Riding on a special dual belt conveyor system for easy and secure vehicle loading, customers will be able to travel from one end of the tunnel to the other in less than three minutes total.

Customers also have the option to sign up for a convenient monthly Unlimited Club membership program with several different service levels available. These memberships may be purchased and managed via a new smartphone app which will associate the membership directly with the vehicle’s license plate number. When the customer pulls into the car wash lane, a special reader system will automatically scan the vehicle and allow admission at the service level specified by the customer.
