On Monday, October 17, Mike's Carwash proudly presented a check for $11,029.33 to the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne Youth Service Bureau.
"We love the opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause. We look forward to doing so each year," says Mike Dahm, president of Mike's Carwash. "It is
especially satisfying when we have the good fortune of a great weather day that helps with the end result."
The donation was a result of the proceeds from Mike's 'Wash for a Cause' one- day fundraiser held on October 8th. Mike's pledged to donate half of all the proceeds from every Ultimate wash sold at the Fort Wayne and Mishawaka locations during the event to the YMCA of Greater Ft. Wayne Youth Service Bureau.
"This years event was extremely successful, thanks in large part to the great reputation Mike's Carwash has in the local community," says Greg Barnes, executive director of the YMCA Youth Service Bureau. "We are so appreciative of this partnership and of the awareness it helps us raise for the services and programs we offer."
Since 1982, the Youth Service Bureau has provided support for troubled youth and their families. While their primary goal is to provide crisis and intervention services, they do so much more. Through advocacy, they give at-risk adolescents the tools, skills and support they need to succeed and grow into thriving adults and community members.
Mike's Carwash has five locations within Ft. Wayne and Mishawaka, IN that participated in the fundraiser. In addition, Mike's has 12 more locations throughout Cincinnati and Dayton, OH, Florence, KY, and Evansville, IN.
