Grace for Vets today announced that it currently has over 3,000 carwashes from four countries participating in the one day event scheduled for November 11. Participating car washes will offer military veterans and active-duty personnel free car washes in thanks for their service.
Grace for Vets was started in 2004 by Mike Mountz, formerly an operator in Pennsylvania, and it has grown each year since its inception. In 2014, more than 2,800 car washes gave away 233,000 free washes to those who have served their country in the military. The organization is hoping to surpass 250,000 free washes with this year’s event.
The International Carwash Association took over the operational management of Grace for Vets this year following the retirement of Mountz from the car wash industry. The program remains open to all car washes worldwide and does not require ICA membership. Operators can join online by visiting the Grace for Vets website – graceforvets.org
. Participants are encouraged to share photos and stories of the day’s events on the organization’s Facebook page.
