The Nordic Ecolabel is the official Ecolabel of the Nordic countries with the purpose of providing an environmental labeling system. UL Standards
UL Standards are used to assess products; test components, materials, systems and performance; and evaluate environmentally sustainable products, renewable energies, food and water products, recycling systems and other innovative technologies. (UL 2770 is for automatic and self-service car washes; UL 508 is for industrial control equipment.)
The CE marking is required for many products. It states that the product is assessed before being placed on the market and meets EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.
VDA Car Wash Criteria (September 2012 edition).
German program for car wash operators and manufacturers that establishes criteria in the areas of wash process, chemistry application and equipment specifications.
European Union Directive 2006/42/EC
This directive lays forth the normative standard for machinery - including car wash machinery - sold in the European Union, certifying that the design and use conforms to safety standards.
UNI 11485 (Italy) TÜV SÜD
Federlavaggi, the Italian association of car wash manufacturers, led the development of a voluntary standard for Italian car wash manufacturers which conforms to 2006/42/EC. This document describes that work.
