Utilize the following special promotion, “Friday Pre-Date Specials”, to increase traffic for your business. The subject of dating is a humorous way to grab the attention of and inspire drivers to get their cars washed. Be sure to remind them about the negative reaction their dirty cars may illicit from their dates unless they get them washed!
Suggestions for executing the campaign:
- Host on Fridays once per quarter
- Offer price discounts or coupons
- Secure business partners that will offer you free customer give-aways in exchange for cross-promotion opportunities. For example:
- Restaurant (especially a hot date spot in town!)
- Movie theatre
- Bowling Alley
- Miniature Golf
- Customize the sample business partner letter to invite businesses to participate.
- Reference business partners in all signage/direct mail/advertising efforts; ask partners if you can place a small sign or coupons in their establishment to raise awareness of date cross-promotion
- Sample signage or advertising copy: “Got a date this weekend? Don’t be a car slob. Get a wash & chance to win a free date!”
- In advance, prepare an entry box at the car wash point-of purchase (register)
- Pick a winner and congratulate them by name on signage. For example: “Congrats Mike W. on winning a free date. Did you enjoy it?”
