Wash Away Thirst unites car wash community for clean water

Mar 22, 2017
Wash Away Thirst is teaming up with charity: water to unite a community of professional car washes, vendors, and clean car enthusiasts to raise $30,000 for clean water in 2017. You can make a donation by visiting our booth at the car wash show (booth #4541) or by visiting the following link https://my.charitywater.org/wash-away-thirst-1/wash-away-thirst-2017

Clean Water Changes Everything. There are still over 600 million people in the world who don’t have access to clean drinking water. That’s right, 600 million people-just like you and me-struggle to find clean water every single day. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Or twice the population of the United States.

100% of the money donated will be used to build clean water projects, and when they are completed, our partners at charity: water will send us GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we’ve helped!

“Water is essential to our business and one of the biggest needs in our world today, so it’s obvious that we, as a car wash community, have a great platform for awareness and change” says Jim Dudley owner of Wash Me Fast and founder of Wash Away Thirst.  “Since Wash Away Thirst was founded in 2009, we’ve given over $70,000 to clean water projects and we are hoping to break the $100,000 mark this year.”

The carwash industry is already on the forefront of water conservation practices so supporting clean water projects around the world is a great fit. WaterSavers certified carwashes use an average of no more than 40 gallons of fresh water per vehicle, which is less than the average home washing machine according to the EPA, and manage run-off to prevent pollution. In supporting certified carwashes, consumers choose a more sustainable option and support clean water efforts globally.
