Motor City Wash Works, Inc. hosted its 8th Annual Open House and Charity Auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Motor City was able to bring the car wash industry together for a day to raise an incredible $60,000 for St. Jude.
“I’m so excited and grateful,” wrote St. Jude’s Mike Hull in a letter to Motor City Wash Works. “Once again, you all did an amazing thing. You guys truly are helping children live.”
Motor City Wash Works hosts the event every year around mid-July. The schedule included a welcome reception, car wash tour, plant tour and BBQ lunch, the Auction to benefit St. Jude, and finished with a Detroit Tigers’ baseball game.
With tremendous support from partners and friends in the industry, more than $600,000 in products were auctioned off to generate a $60,000 donation to St. Jude.
Twenty-two of the top manufacturers in the industry supported and attended the event: Ahearn Signs, Air Lift Doors, Aqua-Bio, AutoData, Blendco and Car Products, Clean World Distribution, Diamond Shine, DosaTron, EuroVac, G & G Lighting, Gallop Brush, Hamilton, Hydra-Flex, Micro Logic, PurClean/New Wave Industries, Simoniz, SoBrite, Stinger Chemical, Turtle Wax Pro, Unitec, Velocity Waterworks, VacuTech, and ZEP. They had over 50 car wash facilities represented that came from Canada, California, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Kentucky.
In total, the event had 182 attendees. Wash Works would like to offer an extra ‘Thanks’ to these special supporters: Miguel Gonzalez, Mark Ellis, Ken Carter, Keith and Jennifer Burt, and Ray and Monica Coselli.
“It was awesome to be part of your open house. It was an honor to participate in the auction,” said Jaime Harris from Hydra-Flex.
